this was fantastic, i loved the fact that this was charming, gory, and comedic all in one! i adore Talaiporia, which is a terrible, and fantastic name all in one. im so excited for the sequel.
Thank you! I find the combination of cartoon violence and gore to be really funny when done right, and having a regenerative masochist is a great way to make sure that there's no permanent damage, like a cartoon!
And major kudos for catching the meaning of Talai's name. She knows what she's all about. XD
this is honestly one of my favorite games.... horror and comedy are my favorite genres and i'm such a sucker for paranormal romance. such a cool experience.... hendrik is super sweet in a fucked up kind of way sdksjdksd
Thanks! I think I'm starting to realize that my favorite genre is whatever uses a ton of horror concepts and imagery, but also uses the horror as a preamble to fun and humor later.
Also, adding different pronouns is so, SO easy. Mundane games should have them, let alone games that include a sexless entity that prefers to identify as female.
I've gotten ending four and five so far and I've really enjoyed it. I hope I can get the other endings the next time I play. It's well written and humorous, entertaining and I love the art style. I can't wait to see what the other endings have to offer!

I absolutely LOVE this game! The artwork is adorable and the characters are so fleshed out, and the story is so unique. No spoilers, but my favorite ending is the 'perfect ending'. I got ending number 4 in this playthrough and am getting all the rest in a separate video, cause I HAD to see all of them. <3

Haven't gotten all the endings yet, might go back and get them later. I really enjoyed this game! The style is right up my alley, with the horror being mostly just an aesthetic element while the game itself is pretty lighthearted. The characters are incredibly enjoyable, the artstyle is nice to look at, and the dialogue is hilarious. Would recommend!

I must say this was ABSOLUTELY delightful to play through. I ended up getting ending 5 through my first playthrough and honestly this is so well made and short enough that coming back for more playthroughs is a must. Keep up all the good work :)

Wow, what a great and unique take on a dating sim! It was more fun than I expected to essentially chaperone one, especially with an unfathomable eldritch horror and a man in desperate need of some kinkshaming.

At first I thought he had major kink issues but since she eats suffering then it makes sense. Her flesh puppet may get fed with meat but the real her is still hungry so he suffers so she can feed. It's kinda nice in a messed up way.
Just a bug note, in case you're trying for mobile web integration: the text prompt to choose a name does not trigger the keyboard and I was unable to get past that point.
Whoa! That’s not something we were trying for, but it’s really cool to note that the game will load on a phone! I just tried it on my iPhone to check, and I can see it on here. But yeah, looks like it’s looking for an actual keyboard. I’m not a programmer, so this isn’t a bug that I’m going to try to fix on my own, but I’ll keep an ear out and see if anything can be done about it in the future. Thank you for letting me know!
well that was... different! (and i do mean that in a good way) i got ending 5. do the other endings reveal more information about the world, or is it just different jokes and maybe some death? a walkthrough would be nice now that i've gotten my 'true' ending.
I adore it. Atmosphere is amazing, art really captures the other-worldness of Talaiporia and that whole bizarre experience. My choices feel like they matter even if they probably not, and for such a short game worldbuilding works great, I can see any number of games in that universe.

The choices that make the most significant difference are mostly the food ones. However, I wanted to slip a couple extras in to try to judge how the player might want to handle the situation. The color of the crayon you give Hendrik at the beginning determines the MC's attitude in a couple of lines: whether they're helpful or snarky. I didn't do a ton with that, but I figured those might be the two biggest moods, and hoped they would assist the player in feeling like the MC expressed them. Even if juuust a little bit.
Ah, so that's what it counted to! My MC definitely was snarky and I wondered if it was because of some choices. Enjoyed it immencely, especially when he brought 3 glasses (one for himself) that was super funny!
Absolutely one of the best games i have ever played. It's the perfect balance of funny, horrifying, and lovable, and it has great replay value! Ending #1 is my favorite ;)

Thank you very much! I do comics and convention tables to make a living, but I always want to branch out and try learning new mediums. And getting to make a visual novel was just...weirdly empowering, if that makes sense. I think it's easy to feel like some things are out of your reach, or that nobody would want to play or read the sorts of stuff you want to make. But finishing May I Take Your Order kinda reminded me that so long as I can be proud of something, it's worth making! Good luck on your entry, too! I'll be rooting you on!

ending 5 - well she'll prob sleep for 1000 years or something
ending 4 - not as brutal, prob still hurts
ending 3 - well oof im dead
ending 2 - i got it cause it glitched but ok (well no more restaruant)

Thank you so much! Hendrik and Talaiporia were the big bads from the first long campaign I GMed, and have become recurring characters in a lot of the other stuff I make. I liked this a lot, it was fun. The couple were kinda of cool. And Hendrick needs to grow a backbone or date like a witch or something.

Hendrik's life pretty much ranges from "nice in a messed up way" to "just plain messed up." XD The first one's about as good as it gets for him.
