Final Ending Coming this Christmas!

Hey all! Time for a big update, to let you all know my current plans. It's a good one, I hope! In the next few months, I'm doubling down on development for NPF.

I plan to have the final ending written and playable in version 0.47 on Thursday, December 25. It'll be a Christmas miracle! I'm gonna follow that up sharp with a Winter Bug Squashing Extravaganza. As per the usual rules, that means that if we can reach 50 reported typos and bugs by the following Sunday (the 28th), I'll post an extra update with a second Epilogue scene, as well as many bug fixes as possible on Monday (the 29th).

Heading into the new year, I'm going to post a survey, asking for feedback on the entire game. Plot structure, themes, everything is up for comment. You've all been wonderful and encouraging, and that's what I've needed to get this far. But this survey is going to be my chance to get brutal, honest feedback. It doesn't mean I'll follow every criticism, but if folks are honest, I'll be able to tell where my artistic intentions are failing to communicate. NPF is never going to be a broad-appeal mega-release. But I really want it to reach our fellow sickos. Let's shout loud enough that it finds the people who need to know they're not alone!

I plan to have an updated demo for NPF up on Steam for the February Steam Next Fest. This will be a very big public moment for the game. I'll be working behind the scenes to contact streamers and public VN-enjoyers. If you know anyone (or are anyone) who can help get the word out, contact my studio email at queerlittlenovelties@gmail.com. Otherwise, this would be a fantastic time to have fanart, screenshot edits, or other kinds of posts ready to go.

Going into 2026, NPF will continue to have monthly updates. I'm going to focus on:

  • Editing the writing that's already there,
  • Completing CGs,
  • Polishing gameplay sections,
  • Overhauling the visual storytelling to use cinematography where appropriate,
  • I also plan to begin posting monthly update builds on Steam. I won't be utilizing the Steam Early Access model, but Patrons will be able to play builds over there, as well as itchio.

My goal is to have NPF's public 1.0 release on itchio one month before Steam: November 2026 and December 2026 respectively. We'll likely have the biggest Bug-Squashing Event possible there, and I'll need to figure out an appropriate thank-you gift once the game is out.

But the biggest gift, I think, will be for me to keep working hard. See you in a few weeks with the final end of NPF. If you haven't played in a while, download the current copy today and get caught up tonight!
